Brian Sharples & Son Ltd is an independent funeral director serving families across Stockport, Cheshire and the surrounding areas. For more than 60 years, our name has been associated with personal service, dignity and professional care at one of the most difficult times in a family’s life.

Today, families can contact us through our funeral homes in Bramhall, Bredbury, High Lane, Marple, Poynton and Romiley. Although the business has grown, our approach remains personal: we listen carefully, explain every step and arrange each funeral according to the family’s wishes, beliefs and budget.

What has remained constant is our belief that families deserve time, choice and honest guidance. We do not expect people to know how to arrange a funeral. We are here to answer questions, coordinate the practical details and provide reassurance throughout.

Planning ahead

Some people find reassurance in discussing their funeral wishes in advance. A pre-paid funeral plan can record selected arrangements and provide financial protection for the funeral director’s services included in the plan once it is fully paid for, subject to the plan’s terms.

Our team has experience of arranging funerals at local crematoria, cemeteries, churches, places of worship and other venues. This local knowledge helps us anticipate practical considerations and provide clear advice.

Support from the first call
Our telephone service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When you contact us following a death, we will explain the immediate steps and arrange to bring the person who has died into our care when it is appropriate to do so.

A funeral arrangement can then take place at one of our funeral homes, in your own home where available, or by telephone if circumstances require. We will provide as much or as little guidance as you need.

Costs and charges:
We believe funeral costs should be explained clearly. You will receive an itemised estimate setting out our charges, optional choices and third-party costs before arrangements are confirmed.

Pre-paid funeral plans:
Planning ahead can allow you to record your wishes and make financial provision for selected funeral services. We work with Golden Charter to offer regulated funeral plans, subject to current plan terms and eligibility.
