Crematorium fees
For a cremation funeral, the crematorium will charge for use of its facilities and the cremation itself. The fee may depend on the crematorium, service time and whether additional services are selected.
Optional crematorium charges can include extended service time, visual tributes, livestreaming, recordings, memorial products or use of music systems.
Cemetery and burial fees
Burial charges can include the purchase of the exclusive right of burial, opening and preparing a new or existing grave, use of the cemetery chapel and administration or memorial-permit fees.
Fees are often higher for people who lived outside the relevant council area. Churchyards and privately operated burial grounds set their own charges and rules.
Minister, celebrant or officiant
A fee may be payable to the person leading the funeral service. This could be a minister, priest, faith leader, civil celebrant or humanist celebrant.
The fee and any travel charges will be confirmed before the funeral where possible.
